In today's society when you hear of a baby shower, you think diaper bag or personalized blanket if you know what the sex of the baby is. The truth of the matter is do the pregnant mom's really care what they get? Most would say no. They would like to get what is on their wish list, but anything that the baby can use is better than nothing.
When I was pregnant with my first child I was so elated that I didn't care if I got trash bags I was going to be happy regardless. Just to be surrounded by all of my family and friends meant the world to me. To see all the people that love me and put in hard work to give me a shower meant a lot.
If you are going to give a personalized gift there is so many things you must first take into consideration; do we know for sure what the sex is? Do we know a name? Most times dates are off by a day or two and sometimes even names are unsure. A pregnancy is so unpredictable that things change. If you know these few key things then I think a personalized gift is the way to go. It is something a child can cherish forever. We always want those little keepsakes.
When you give a diaper bag there is so many things that you can do with it to make it special. You can fill it with diapers, you can fill it with baby items, you can fill it with medical supplies or you can just leave it empty. Diaper bags are always going to come in handy and the way most moms are today they don't just have one, they have several to swap out.
I think for first time moms what we think of when we have a baby shower is that is one less dollar I have to spend which in turn saves us money. We get so excited and happy to have a baby shower; it is something that is given in our honor to show that we are loved.
I think whether you take time to get a personalized gift such as a blanket or small trinket or if you get a diaper bag for a new mom to be it's the thought that counts. Every little thing that we get is one less dollar that we spend and when we get something from family and friends it shows us that the baby is thought of and will be surrounded by love and support.
